Dispatch Assistant

Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Schedule Coordination: Assist in planning and scheduling shipments to ensure timely deliveries.
  • Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for drivers, clients, and suppliers, providing updates and resolving issues as they arise.
  • Data Entry: Maintain accurate records of shipments, deliveries, and driver logs in our dispatch system.
  • Documentation: Prepare and review necessary shipping documents, including bills of lading and delivery confirmations.
  • Problem-Solving: Address and resolve any logistical issues, such as delays or route changes, in a timely manner.
  • Tracking Shipments: Monitor the status of shipments and communicate updates to relevant parties.
  • Support Team: Assist the dispatch team with administrative tasks and projects as needed.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in logistics or transportation is a plus.
  • Previous experience in a dispatch or logistics role is preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with dispatch software.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
