Description
- Overseeing market research, brand development and customer engagement.
- Managing key communication and relationships with all major grocery retailers and large private label accounts at the appropriate contact level.
- Developing and implementing promotional plans and growth strategies for major chains.
- Managing the activity and productivity of two direct reports 1) Sales Representative 2) Sales & Marketing Coordinator.
- Identifying new growth opportunities, accounts, markets and item listing gaps, and developing strategy and plans to secure incremental growth.
- Overseeing and managing the implementation of product price increase across the entire portfolio of customers, ensuring timely implementation and execution.
- Participating in the weekly production scheduling and planning meetings, providing input from a sales perspective.
- Being an active member and participant of the company leadership team, participating in scheduled meetings and bringing forth any new opportunities or challenges.
- Providing key insights and market updates including monitoring competitive activity, actions and new product introduction.
- Maintaining detailed knowledge of our product line and effectively communicating product features and benefits to customers.
- Staying organized with accurate sales tracking and customer performance records.
- Identifying new marketing opportunities to drive increasing sales.
- Working independently in a hybrid work setting while staying productive and meeting daily targets and deadlines.
- Identifying and engaging new sales opportunities with accounts not currently purchasing from the company
- Other duties as required to assist in the smooth operations of company sales, marketing and operations.
Qualifications
- 10 or more years of direct senior sales experience. Experience in the processed meat sector or similar CPG food products is an asset. Familiarity in dealing directly with and managing corporate head office grocery accounts.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal and presentation skills with a customer-focused approach. A focus to grow sales.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- A demonstrated ability to manage people.
- Experience with digital and traditional marketing strategies and tools.
- Post-secondary degree or diploma preferably in business or marketing.
- Proficiency with basic software tools like Microsoft Office, and familiarity with the ERP order entry process. Familiarity with Traverse ERP software an asset.
- Mature professional demeanor in working with customers and co-workers.
- Must have a reliable vehicle for transportation.
