Description
  • Responsible for planning and managing the monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting requirements and processes including financial analysis, validation and submission of financial statements and reports, as well as additional notes & disclosures for financial reporting
  • Responsible for the preparation of statutory/standalone financial statements including required disclosure notes, as required
  • Liaise with Group Accounting in Germany regarding monthly, quarterly, year-end reporting issues/ queries, technical accounting matters, completion of ad-hoc reporting documents as well as maintain communication with Group Accounting on any accounting changes to current or new processes
  • Maintain General Ledger and mapping table configurations and ensures integrity, accuracy and completeness of Financial Statements and Disclosures, as required
  • Responsible for ensuring that the accounting treatment of all accounting transactions are in accordance with IFRS and the company Accounting Handbook
  • Ensuring timely and accurate reconciliation of GL Accounts, preparing and reviewing specific account reconciliations.
  • Manage financial statement audits by coordinating the list of audit deliverables, liaising with external auditors on significant accounting issues, and ensuring audit reporting timelines are met.
  • Research and analyze IFRS accounting issues, offer sound accounting advice to the business, and prepare thorough IFRS Position Papers for internal use and for external auditors
  • Collaborate with the Controlling function to understand business needs and the overall activity in the financial statements, ensure business objectives are compliant with IFRS, and assist with Controlling’s reporting requirements through alignment of the Zeus and FACTs files
  • Prepare financial information, reports and disclosures provided to the Tax Department, facilitate processes required for tax provision bookings.
  • Develop and maintain documentation of processes, procedures and process maps within ICFR framework and responsible for documenting, implementing and monitoring new, existing and proposed processes and evaluating strengths and compliance for all internal controls
  • Support systems implementations and required testing requirements
  • Provide backup support to other accounting functions as required
  • Liaise with GTP Accountant to ensure treasury transactions are correctly reflected within financial statements
  • Support the corporate tax team with ad hoc requests needed to complete their filings
  • Support the internal compliance initiatives, including risk assessment, and review of internal controls
  • Perform high level review of Trial Balance analysis files while applying technical accounting and business/operation knowledge to ensure the integrity, accuracy and completeness of all GL accounts
  • Act as a liaison on accounting topics to ensure cooperation and integration between Accounting Services and Controlling Teams; develop relationships with key stakeholders to ensure efficiencies, synergies and knowledge sharing amongst the teams
Qualifications
  • CPA designation or in final stages of obtaining the designation
  • Previous accounting experience with an audit firm is preferred
  • Intermediate to advanced understanding of MS office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Written, oral and presentation to document, articulate and convey functions and processes. Analytical skills – Ability to dissect complex accounting and financial processes and identify risks and process improvements.
