Compensation Range

Description
- You will Design cable solutions in accordance with technical characteristics, manufacturing capabilities and customer requirements.
- Design, specify and calculate new cable solutions in accordance with technical characteristics, manufacturing capabilities and customer requirements.
- To be a liaison and engineering support between production planning, customer service representatives, sales representatives and customer.
- Develop familiarity with the products and capabilities and provide expertise to technical sales engineers, marketing and sales representatives.
- Calculate prices for new designs or update price calculation on re-ordered items and suggest pricing to customer service representatives and management for sign-off.
- Participate in projects with regards to new product development and introduction.
- Identify components that are required to be sourced externally and co-ordinate demands with purchasing.
- Interact with European facilities on components specifically produced in other company entities and gather knowledge for future local manufacturing capabilities
- Help maintain a safe work environment under the company OH&S policy.
- Calculations for electrical, mechanical and safety performance of the cable system including current carrying capacity, overload, induced voltages, short-circuit currents, impedances, etc.
- Supports QA to respond to customer complaints, taking corrective action.
Qualifications
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering required (Electrical, Electromechanical, Mechanical, Chemical) or 5 years’ relative industry experience could be considered.
- Working knowledge of manufacturing operations, materials, cable design and specifications to UL and CSA
- AutoCAD experience
- Project Management a strong asset
- Background knowledge of engineering standards, industrial engineering, costing, ISO
- Proficient communication skills to allow for excellent interaction with customers, both written & verbal in English
- Attention to detail in preparation of technical designs and pricing calculations.

- Ability to work on many different tasks simultaneously with frequent interruptions with attention to time sensitive deadlines
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Willingness to travel (20%) for training or on-site customer visits.
- Strong sense of quality in analytical work, application of standards, verification of own and others work and documentation.
