Compensation Range

$80K - $100K

Compensation will be determined based on the successful candidate's experience, skills, and qualifications, and may also be influenced by internal equity and market conditions.

Description

Human Resources Leadership
• Lead and manage all Human Resources functions across the organization.
• Serve as the primary HR advisor to managers and leadership.
• Develop, implement, and continuously improve HR policies, procedures, and programs.
• Ensure compliance with employment legislation, collective agreements, and company policies.
• Develop HR metrics and reporting to support business decisions.
• Identify and implement process improvements that improve efficiency and the employee experience.

Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning
• Own the full recruitment lifecycle for hourly, salaried, technical, and leadership positions.
• Develop recruitment strategies to attract top talent.
• Partner with leaders on workforce planning and succession planning.
• Lead onboarding and orientation programs.
• Monitor recruitment metrics and improve hiring processes.

Employee & Labour Relations
• Lead employee relations matters including investigations, performance management, attendance
management, corrective action, conflict resolution, and terminations.
• Interpret and administer the collective agreement while advising managers on labour relations matters.
• Serve as the primary contact for the union local and head office representative, managing grievances and
participating in mediation and arbitration as required.
• Coach leaders on employee relations and promote a positive, collaborative workplace culture.

Health, Safety & Disability Management
• Lead WSIB administration, return-to-work programs, and workplace accommodations.
• Support Joint Health and Safety Committee initiatives and legislative compliance.
• Coordinate occupational health requirements and disability management.

Training & Development
• Identify organizational training needs.
• Develop leadership and employee development initiatives.
• Manage mandatory training and compliance requirements.
• Promote employee engagement and continuous learning.

Compensation, Benefits & HR Systems
• Administer compensation programs and annual compensation reviews.
• Manage employee benefits, pension, disability, and leave administration.
• Maintain HRIS data integrity and identify opportunities to improve HR technology.
• Ensure accurate employee records and HR reporting.

Payroll Support
• Provide backup support for payroll processing during absences or peak periods.
• Review timekeeping records and assist with payroll-related inquiries.
• Support payroll audits, reporting, and year-end activities as required.

Continuous Improvement
• Identify opportunities to improve HR processes, systems, and employee services.
• Participate in HR projects and organizational initiatives.
• Support initiatives that improve employee experience, engagement, and operational effectiveness.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
• CHRP designation considered an asset.
• 7–10 years of progressive Human Resources experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience supporting a unionized workforce with strong labour relations experience.
• Strong knowledge of the Employment Standards Act, Human Rights Code, Occupational Health and Safety
Act, WSIB, and labour legislation.
• Demonstrated experience leading investigations, performance management, disability management, and
organizational change.
• Experience implementing HR process improvements and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
• Strong leadership, coaching, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication, conflict resolution, and relationship-building abilities.
• Experience with HRIS systems (ADP Workforce Now preferred).
• Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and lead organizational initiatives.
