Facility Maintenance Leader

Description
The Facility Maintenance Leader is responsible for executing maintenance assignments, facility renovations, construction work, equipment installations, and day-to-day repairs. This role supports the safe and efficient operation of the facility by maintaining building systems, equipment, and overall site conditions.

Key Responsibilities
- Complete facility maintenance, renovation, and construction tasks based on work orders (oral, written, or electronic)
- Perform maintenance, repairs, and start-up of mechanical and industrial equipment
- Conduct preventative maintenance and troubleshoot facility machinery
- Diagnose, analyze, and repair various types of facility equipment using appropriate diagnostic tools
- Perform plumbing work including domestic water systems, drains, treated water lines, pumps, water heaters, hydraulics, and piping systems
- Carry out basic electrical repairs such as replacing bulbs and ballasts
- Perform renovation and construction work including carpentry, drywall, painting, concrete, and insulation
- Move equipment and furniture safely using proper tools and lifting techniques
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date maintenance records and schedules
- Coordinate with contractors and other trades to complete projects
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment with high housekeeping standards
- Install and maintain electrical, refrigeration, and other building systems
- Adhere to all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and company policies
- Support urgent facility or security-related tasks as required to protect people, property, or operations
- Attend required training sessions
Qualifications
Qualifications
- Licensed skilled trade certification preferred
- Certifications such as Working at Heights, Elevating Work Platforms, and Forklift (or willingness to obtain) are considered assets
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and facility plans
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment
- Willingness to learn new systems and technologies
- Ability to work at heights and in a physically demanding environment
- Comfortable working in a cannabis manufacturing environment
- Clean criminal record
- Reliable attendance is essential
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
Working Conditions
- Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required by OHSA and company SOPs
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged standing and walking
- Frequent bending, kneeling, stooping, and reaching
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks with attention to detail
- Ability to lift 20–40 lbs regularly
- Ability to respond quickly to sounds and potential hazards
- Ability to work safely in confined or uneven spaces
- Ability to climb stairs while carrying up to 40 lbs
