$90K - $115K

Compensation will be determined based on the successful candidate's experience, skills, and qualifications, and may also be influenced by internal equity and market conditions.

Description

Employee & Labour Relations

  • Act as the primary HR partner to employees and leaders across manufacturing operations.
  • Lead employee and labour relations matters, including grievances, investigations, conflict resolution, discipline, accommodations, and terminations.
  • Interpret and administer collective agreements, employment legislation, and company policies.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with union representatives and support collective bargaining activities.
  • Promote a positive workplace culture through proactive coaching, communication, and employee engagement initiatives.

Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning

  • Lead full-cycle recruitment for hourly and salaried positions up to the Manager level.
  • Partner with operational leaders to forecast workforce needs and develop staffing strategies.
  • Support succession planning, internal talent development, and workforce retention initiatives.
  • Monitor labour market trends and recruitment metrics to improve hiring effectiveness.

Performance, Attendance & Leadership Development

  • Coach leaders on performance management, employee accountability, attendance management, and progressive discipline.
  • Support the development and execution of Action Plans, Performance Improvement Plans, and corrective action initiatives.
  • Identify leadership development opportunities and facilitate training and coaching programs.
  • Analyze workforce trends and implement solutions that improve productivity, engagement, and retention.

HR Business Partnership

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to operational leaders on people, labour, and organizational matters.
  • Support organizational change, restructuring, and business transformation initiatives.
  • Provide HR insights and recommendations using workforce data, analytics, and key performance indicators.
  • Partner with leaders to develop and execute people strategies aligned to business objectives.

 Compliance, Health & Safety & Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with employment, labour, human rights, health and safety, and accessibility legislation.
  • Lead workplace investigations and manage employee and organizational risk.
  • Support disability management, accommodations, return-to-work programs, and leave administration.
  • Maintain and enhance HR policies, practices, and procedures.

 Employee Engagement & Culture

  • Lead employee engagement, recognition, communication, and culture-building initiatives.
  • Maintain a strong floor presence to support employees and leaders while proactively addressing workplace concerns.
  • Support town halls, employee meetings, and communication programs that strengthen organizational culture.
  • Champion company values, inclusion, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • CHRP or CHRL designation considered an asset.
  • 5-7+ years of progressive HR experience, including labour relations experience within a unionized manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of collective agreement administration, grievance handling, workplace investigations, employment legislation, and labour relations practices.
  • Experience supporting both hourly production and salaried employee populations.
  • Proven ability to coach leaders, resolve complex employee relations issues, and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong recruitment, workforce planning, and talent management experience.
  • Excellent communication, conflict resolution, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in HRIS, ATS, Microsoft Office, and HR reporting tools.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while maintaining a highly visible and approachable presence on the production floor.
