Workplace Design Team Manager

Description
- Manage, coach and mentor the design team, assigning tasks, reviewing work, and fostering professional development.
- Manage workload and projects assignments, prioritization of projects, and design estimates.
- Oversee space planning, furniture layout, finish selections, and specification creation using industry-standard software (AutoCAD, CET Designer etc.).
- Collaborate with account managers and clients to understand project goals, budget, and timeline.
- Ensure all drawings and specifications meet client standards, manufacturer requirements.
- Keep current with new software and hardware technology.
- Review and approve final drawings, renderings, and specifications before submission.
- Participate in client meetings as needed.
- Develop and maintain design processes and documentation standards.
- Stay current with furniture trends, workplace strategy, and design best practices.
- Assist in developing RFP responses, product decisions and content.
- Working alongside Sales focusing on billable hours and selling Design services.
Qualifications
- Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in office furniture design; 2+ years in a leadership or management role.
- Advanced AutoCAD, CET Designer (Configura), and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong knowledge of major office furniture lines, ideally Haworth.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and client-facing skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Strong understanding of commercial interiors, space planning, and furniture specifications.
