Workplace Design Team Manager

Description
  • Manage, coach and mentor the design team, assigning tasks, reviewing work, and fostering professional development.
  • Manage workload and projects assignments, prioritization of projects, and design estimates.
  • Oversee space planning, furniture layout, finish selections, and specification creation using industry-standard software (AutoCAD, CET Designer etc.).
  • Collaborate with account managers and clients to understand project goals, budget, and timeline.
  • Ensure all drawings and specifications meet client standards, manufacturer requirements.
  • Keep current with new software and hardware technology.
  • Review and approve final drawings, renderings, and specifications before submission.
  • Participate in client meetings as needed.
  • Develop and maintain design processes and documentation standards.
  • Stay current with furniture trends, workplace strategy, and design best practices.
  • Assist in developing RFP responses, product decisions and content.
  • Working alongside Sales focusing on billable hours and selling Design services.
Qualifications
  • Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in office furniture design; 2+ years in a leadership or management role.
  • Advanced AutoCAD, CET Designer (Configura), and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong knowledge of major office furniture lines, ideally Haworth.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and client-facing skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong understanding of commercial interiors, space planning, and furniture specifications.
