Wind Sales Technician

Description
  • Travel across a region in the U.S. to work with company-wide base of wind customers; region: TX, OK, KS,CO, NM, MO, AR.
  • Work cohesively and interface with internal resources; customer service, technical, R&D, operations.
  • Analyze carbon brush performance on all major DFIG platforms.
  • Up-tower slip ring and brush system analysis using company tools.
  • Report field data and feedback from technical teams at wind farm locations across the US.
  • Develop and complete test reports documenting data and pictures captured on up-tower field inspections.
  • Maintain test logs, detailed data sheets and up-tower information on each turbine climbed for report generation and analysis – attention to detail in all data collection is a must.
  • Collaborate with lead technicians and site managers to initiate/follow-up on test installs and inspections.
  • Identify potential new customers based on field feedback while working closely with engineering and sales teams.
  • Maintain valid wind-turbine climbing certifications, OSHA certifications and other relevant safety certifications (NFPA 70E, CPR/First Aid).
  • Foster and nurture existing customer relationships for growth expectations.
  • Hands-on work with customer solutions, products; interpret drawings, specifications or schematics.
  • Continually seek and develop new business, add-on business; prospects through networking, cold calling and other prospecting methods.
  • Log and update customer contact information and visit reports in SalesForce.
  • Track, follow-up and monitor all leads and sales opportunities in a timely manner.
  • Professionally represent the company at all times, including trade shows and business events.
  • All other job-related duties and projects as assigned by Manager or pertain to the business operations.
Qualifications
  • Associates Degree / Certificate in Applied Sciences / Technical training / Wind Technician Degree.
  • Preferred certifications: GWO trained, OSHA10, NFPA 70E, CPR/First Aid.
  • 2+ years’ wind technician experience – DFIG platforms preferred.
  • Technical knowledge of major wind turbine components, electrical schemes and their respective functions.
  • Proficient Computer Knowledge – MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. SalesForce experience a plus.
  • Team-player / fast-thinker and the ability to make critical decisions.
  • Available for up to 80% domestic travel to service customer base.
  • Strong command of the English language and Customer-centric with a strong sense of urgency.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English highly preferred.
  • Possess and maintain valid driver’s license.
  • Extreme attention to safety and comfortable with heights and physical conditioning.
  • Able to meet prerequisite physical testing necessary for climbing (max weight with equipment 310 pounds).
  • Residence within one hour drive time of major airport preferred.
