Description

Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and execute an operations strategy that supports company growth, profitability, and service excellence across all distribution sites.
  • Serve as a key advisor to the Senior Leadership Team on logistics, capacity planning, and operational scalability.
  • Drive continuous improvement and innovation across the supply chain, identifying opportunities for automation, process efficiency, and cost optimization.
  • Lead business planning and forecasting for distribution operations, partnering closely with the CFO on financial modeling, investment planning, and performance analysis.

Operational Oversight

  • Oversee the performance and operational success of three North American distribution centers:
  • In-house Distribution Centre (67,000 sq. ft.)
  • Second Distribution Centre operation (100,000 sq. ft.)
  • Outsourced 3PL partner in South Carolina
  • Ensure consistent achievement of service level agreements (SLAs), key performance indicators (KPIs), and customer delivery standards across all sites.
  • Partner with the Director of Distribution and site leaders to align operational practices, standardize SOPs, and drive accountability at all levels.
  • Manage vendor and partner relationships with 3PLs, carriers, and logistics providers, ensuring alignment with company objectives and cost control.
  • Oversee capacity and resource planning to ensure the right infrastructure, staffing, and systems are in place to support business growth.

Customer Focus

  • Ensure operational excellence that delivers consistent accuracy, timeliness, and reliability in all customer-facing activities.
  • Maintain high standards of customer satisfaction by minimizing service disruptions and ensuring strong fulfillment performance.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to anticipate needs, resolve issues, and continuously improve the customer experience.
  • Champion a customer-centric culture across all DCs, emphasizing responsiveness, communication, and service quality.

Budget Ownership

  • Own and manage operational budgets across all distribution sites, ensuring alignment with company financial goals.
  • Partner with the CFO to forecast, track, and analyze key cost drivers and operational performance metrics.
  • Implement cost-control measures and identify opportunities for efficiency and margin improvement without compromising service quality.
  • Establish financial accountability at all operational levels, ensuring team leaders manage their budgets

Change Management

  • Lead and oversee operational change initiatives, including process redesign, technology implementations, and site expansions, to support company growth.
  • Effectively plan and communicate change initiatives to ensure smooth transitions with minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Build alignment and buy-in across teams by clearly defining the “why,” “what,” and “how” of change.
  • Identify training and resource needs to ensure staff are prepared and empowered to adopt new systems, tools, or workflows.
  • Foster a culture of agility, innovation, and continuous improvement throughout the operations organization.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, mentor, and empower a team of experienced operations professionals — fostering accountability, collaboration, and a results-driven culture.
  • Lead a team of warehouse managers to clearly define roles, responsibilities, and success metrics to ensure strong leadership continuity across all DCs.
  • Promote cross-functional collaboration between Operations, Finance, Sales, and Customer Service to ensure a seamless flow of information and execution.

 Systems, Data & Continuous Improvement

  • Leverage technology, analytics, and data-driven insights to improve operational visibility, forecasting, and decision-making.
  • Drive adoption and optimization of WMS, ERP, and reporting systems to support scalable operations.
  • Utilize strong Excel and analytical skills to evaluate performance trends, financial impacts, and strategic opportunities.
  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence across all sites.

 Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations (including CNESST in Quebec and applicable U.S. standards).
  • Maintain operational risk management, safety programs, and environmental compliance across all facilities.

 

 

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in operations, logistics, or distribution leadership within a North American context, preferably at the senior management or VP level.
  • Proven experience managing multiple distribution facilities and/or 3PL partners.
  • Strong financial and business acumen with demonstrated experience partnering with finance teams on cost analysis, budgeting, and ROI-driven initiatives.
  • Advanced computer proficiency, including expert-level Excel skills;
  • Experience with WMS and ERP systems is imperative (experience with HighJump is an asset).
  • Demonstrated success leading and developing high-performing teams through growth and change.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • A strategic thinker with a hands-on approach and a passion for operational excellence.
