Transportation Coordinator

Description

The Transportation Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating, facilitating and overseeing
activities associated with Domestic and International transportation of goods. This position will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure all shipments are timely and accurately executed, audited and completed thoroughly.

Responsibilities:
• Develop and execute Transportation plans to meet the organization’s deadlines and budget

• Provide Transportation support for the movement of all goods and ensure the safe and on-time delivery of goods to meet established due dates

• Manage emails and provide timely responses

• Review and prepare information for seasonal products during pre-season audit

• Create files and maintain data entry in all databases

• Pre-rate, compare and report all costs for submitted purchase/transfer orders

• Research and obtain all necessary documents for upcoming shipments

• Organize and coordinate shipping details precisely with requestors (internal), shippers, vendors, receivers and colleagues to ensure the requested ETA is met

• Liaise and communicate with carriers to negotiate prices and service details
• Track and monitor shipments, follow-up with involved parties on a daily basis

• Provide updates to appropriate individuals via phone and/or email

• Actively identify challenges and suggest solutions within various processes and procedures

• Liaising with the warehouse team to obtain information for requested loads and updates

• Complete outgoing submissions for tenders, pre-qualifications, permit applications, etc.

• Notify management of any escalated or service failures

• Update costs increases/decreases in real time to ensure accounting accuracy when providing accounting approvals

• Complete invoicing with correct cost allocations

• Handles and reports shortages, damages and file loss claims

• Execute special projects, duties and tasks as required

Qualifications

Requirements:

• 1 -3 years experience in Transportation (LTL, LCL, FCL, Air Freight, courier (local and International)

• Possess outstanding organizational and decision-making skills

• Innovative and creative problem solver with analytical and critical thinking skills

• Multitasking capabilities to prioritize and manage all active shipments

• Ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision and adapt to change

• Extremely detail oriented

• A positive attitude and the ability to communicate effectively
