Training and Development Specialist/Manager

Description
- Needs Analysis: Collaborate with department leads, key stakeholders, and HR to training and development needs.
- Work with Subject Matter Experts (SME) to create content and update existing training resources.
- Assist with State Connect with ongoing support portal.
- Project manage learning initiatives by defining plans, adhering to timelines, and facilitating implementation.
- Work closely with Software Development and Business Intelligence on system training.
- Lead the implementation of the Company’s Learning Management System (LMS).
- Training: Coordinate and deliver training sessions for managers and employees to ensure effective adoption and use of talent performance management, processes, tools, programs and resources.
- Coordinate and deliver Health/Wellness training for all staff.
- Development: Responsible for working with the HR Managers and department heads to promote staff internally.
- Work with HR Managers, Dept. Heads, and staff on tasks related to ABC’s, Actions Plans and PIP’s.
- Budget: Oversee the training matrix budget on an annual basis which includes education/certificates/professional designations and succession planning.
- Maintain employee eligibility, track costs and professional certifications on Dayforce.
- Other: Maintain a knowledge of the latest trends in training and development through research, courses, and seminars.
- Assess training and development needs through surveys, interviews, focus groups, and communication with managers, instructors, and customer representatives on an ongoing basis.
- Understand business strategy thoroughly and work to align with training and development of employees and departments; and
- Any other tasks assigned by the EVP.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Human Resources/ Training and Development, or equivalent years of Experience
- Minimum 3 years of HR experience or training and development.
- Critical thinking and able to use different strategies to help implement new training and development of best practices.
- Organizational skills, maintains training content, records, and databases.
- Discretion, judgement, and tact to handle confidential information.
- Knowledge in Microsoft Office Suites.
- Effective written and oral communication skills; and
- Work independently and as part of a team.
- Driver’s license at minimum – will have access to company vehicles for travel to sites as needed (minimal – approximately 10 – 15% of time)
