Position Overview:

Reporting to the Director of Engineering, we are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Water Treatment Engineer to join our team. This role involves designing, implementing, and optimizing water treatment systems for various applications in construction, mining, and industrial sectors. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in fluid dynamics and water treatment processes, and a proven track record of leadership in engineering projects.
This role requires expertise in fluid dynamics, materials science, and practical experience in filtration technology.

Duties and Responsibilities:
·Lead cross-functional teams to conceptualize, design, and develop, innovative technologies and products related to water treatment.
·Evaluate and select suitable materials for filtration media based on compatibility, efficiency, and durability.
·Conduct comprehensive water quality assessments to identify specific contaminants and determine treatment requirements.
·Develop and implement advanced water treatment solutions, address challenges, and enhance system performance.
·Ensure that all water treatment activities comply with relevant environmental regulations, permits, and industry standards.
·Prepare and review detailed engineering reports, including design calculations, drawings, and recommendations.
·Provide guidance, mentorship, and leadership to junior engineers and support staff.
·Collaborate with managers to support recruitment, hiring, and training efforts as needed.
·Contribute to the strategic planning and development of the water treatment division.
·Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and relevant scientific literature.
·Act in compliance with Aquatech’s Health and Safety and Environmental Management.

Qualifications

Required Knowledge and Experience:
·Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, environmental engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
·Professional Engineer (P.ENG) license or equivalent certification in water treatment.
·6+ years of experience in water treatment, with a specific focus on advanced filtration and treatment technologies.
·Proficient in water treatment process modeling software, AutoCAD, and other relevant engineering tools.
·Strong communication skills in business writing, technical writing, public speaking, and presentation preparation.
·Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
·Demonstrate a strong self-learning ability, take responsibility for personal development, identify training needs, and request appropriate training as required.
·Very organized, heightened attention to detail, and punctual to deadlines.
