Compensation Range

$80K - $130K

Compensation will be determined based on the successful candidate's experience, skills, and qualifications, and may also be influenced by internal equity and market conditions.

Description

Core Responsibilities (Adjusted Based on Experience)

 Sales & Market Development

  • Develop and execute territory sales plans aligned with corporate sales objectives and budget targets, with scope and ownership adjusted based on experience level
  • Identify, develop, and manage relationships with new and existing customers to increase sales and brand awareness
  • Expand market presence across key customer segments including specification, engineering, contractor, and distribution channels
  • Follow up on leads, referrals, and project opportunities through the sales cycle

 Customer Engagement & Technical Support

  • Prepare and deliver sales presentations, proposals, and contracts to a wide range of stakeholders
  • Build and maintain technical knowledge of products, lighting controls, and LED solutions
  • Identify customer needs, resolve concerns, and deliver solutions in a professional, service‑oriented manner
  • Represent the company positively at customer meetings, job sites, and industry events

Collaboration & Reporting

  • Collaborate closely with inside sales and support teams to close opportunities and support customer success
  • Track and report territory activity, pipeline, and performance to the Regional Sales Manager
  • Participate in sales meetings, marketing initiatives, seminars, and trade shows
  • Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of sales strategies and business plans

 Additional Responsibilities

  • Support special sales initiatives and promotional programs as required
  • Perform other duties consistent with the role, experience level, and business needs
Qualifications

Qualifications & Experience

  • This position is open to candidates at different stages of their sales career. Responsibilities and expectations will align with demonstrated experience and capability.

 Required / Preferred Experience

  • Experience in electrical, lighting, or related technical sales preferred
    • Experienced professional: proven success managing territory sales and meeting or exceeding targets
    • Career‑path candidate: foundational sales experience with strong potential and desire to grow
  • Knowledge of lighting controls and LED technologies preferred; training and development support available
  • Experience in commercial and industrial markets preferred
  • Exposure to healthcare, institutional, or correctional facility lighting is an asset

 Skills & Competencies

  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of an organization, from executives to field personnel
  • Negotiation skills and a customer‑focused, solution‑oriented mindset
  • Ability to learn technically complex products and concepts
  • Highly organized, strategic, and capable of managing multiple priorities
  • Professional, diplomatic approach to handling challenging situations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint); CRM experience preferred
  • Detail‑oriented with a high level of integrity and confidentiality

 Additional Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license and insurance

 Education & Certifications

  • Lighting Certified (LC) designation considered a strong asset
  • Ongoing technical and sales training supported for developing candidates
