Quality Assurance Technologist
QUALITY ASSURANCE TECHNOLOGIST
– Understanding and applying Geometrical Dimensioning and Tolerancing
– Undertaking CMM operation and programming, with Mitutoyo equipment / MCOSMOS software
– Use of other measurement equipment such as optical comparator, height gauge, profilometer, indicators, micrometer, caliper.
– Working with Engineering and sub-contracted gauge Designers to support custom gauges
– Conducting Metrology, calibration, and gauge capability studies
– Working with design and launch teams to establish or apply APQP and quality core tools including Control Plans; FMEA, MSA, SPC and PPAP standards or protocol;
– Participating in some segments of ISO/TS16949, and ISO/IEC 17025 audits;
– Undertaking other related duties as assigned.
The choice applicant will have:
– A post-secondary degree/diploma/certification in quality or engineering discipline
– Professional designation in quality assurance, CQT or CQE
– CAD education and experience
– Responsible experience in auto parts manufacturing and quality systems management, including experience in APQP and core-quality assurance tools, thorough knowledge of Continual Quality Improvement principles, standards & practices acquired through responsible manufacturing and quality audit experience.
– Superior analytical, organizational and communications skills
– Ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams
– Familiarity with PC & internet software, including Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint.
