Description

Procurement & Vendor Management

  • Source and purchase raw materials, equipment, and operational supplies for the main facility and smaller locations.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers to optimize cost savings.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors and explore new sourcing opportunities if needed.
  • Ensure all purchasing activities comply with company policies and industry regulations.

Inventory & Order Management

  • Monitor stock levels and place orders as needed to prevent shortages.
  • Coordinate deliveries and ensure all orders meet quality and quantity requirements.
  • Track and report on purchasing trends, identifying areas for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
  • Work with warehouse and production teams to ensure proper storage and handling of purchased items.

Cross-Location Coordination

  • Manage purchasing needs for multiple locations, ensuring smaller facilities also receive necessary supplies.
  • Communicate with managers across different locations to assess needs and address procurement issues.
  • Adjust ordering schedules and vendor contracts based on varying operational demands.

Administrative & Financial Oversight

  • Maintain accurate purchasing records, invoices, and supplier agreements.
  • Assist with budgeting and cost control for purchasing activities.
  • Collaborating with our finance team to ensure proper payment and invoice procedures are up to standards.
Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management, preferably in food processing, manufacturing, or a similar industry.
  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
  • Ability to multitask and handle procurement for multiple locations.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and purchasing software.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to analyze purchasing data.
  • Knowledge of food safety and industry regulations is an asset.
