Description

Job Title: National Sales Manager
Responsibilities:

Lead, coach, motivate and inspire a team of RAMs to achieve or exceed patient and sales objectives at the national level and in their assigned geographic sales regions
• Build excellent local business plans that are aligned to the overarching portfolio strategy and focus on the best and biggest patient and account/HCP opportunities
• Ensure executional excellence through a broad range of RAM driven commercial and educational initiatives, prioritizing high value accounts and HCPs
• Grow account planning, selling, digital proficiency and capabilities to enhance our impact on HCPs and patients through every single interaction
• Position company as the partner of choice with Key External Experts by creating, building and improving relationships and regular communication with key thought leaders
• Develop and mentor the RAMs so they can hit their full growth potential
• Nurture a culture of growth mindset and coaching by providing frequent and timely written and verbal feedback following customer visits, conducting quarterly performance reviews to address and support both business and professional development needs
• Ensure a high level of disease and brand training and expertise amongst the RAMs
• Maximize cooperation and collaboration between the RAMs and cross-functional teams, with a special focus on delivering industry leading medical-commercial collaboration (MSLs and RAMs) to deliver exceptional customer experience
• Provide constant field feedback and insights to the cross functional team to ensure strategies and plans of actions are tailored to HCP needs now and into the future
• Optimize resource allocation and prioritized tactics by channels in deep partnership with the cross-functional team
• Collaborate with the brand team to input and shape the short term and long-term Canadian portfolio brand strategy and resource allocation
• Input into revenues and expenses forecasts throughout various planning cycles to ensure we hit on our profitability targets
• Contribute to regular business reviews with senior leadership on revenues performance, brand KPI’s and market dynamics

Qualifications

You will need to have:
• B.A. / B.S. in business or scientific field is required.
• 10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry with a min of 3 years track record of success as a sales leader
• Strong insights based strategic analysis/planning and execution skills with a proven track record of driving significant brand growth

Stellar written and oral communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex ideas to various audiences, including senior leadership
• Ability to execute at a fast pace and get things done quickly by figuring out the path to success
• A passion to embrace the power of feedback as a path to high performance
• Ability to lead through ambiguity, react swiftly to change, remain agile and showcase growth mindset
• High emotional intelligence with strong ability to listen and understand the perspective of others to create a diverse and inclusive working environment and unlock people and business opportunities
• Worked closely with cross-functional teams including but not limited to Marketing, Market Access, Medical, Commercial Operations, Digital, Finance and Regulatory, PSP
• Proven project management, planning and organizational ability
• Experience in managing promotional budgets and forecasting
• Experience in participating in a launch in the past 5 years
• Broad cross-functional experience in other commercial roles, such as marketing, sales operations, medical affairs, national/corporate accounts, managed markets, hospital markets, etc.
• Demonstrates strong, in-depth clinical, technical, and scientific knowledge in complete disease states
• Effective administrator who efficiently manages resources and workload to meet or exceed deadlines
• Proven ability to manage a large geographical territory
• Ability to travel locally or internationally which can occasionally include overnight and weekend
• Bilingual French

Asset:

Experience in biotech and specialty sales with hematology/nephrology/oncology and/or ultra-orphan drug experience preferred
• Have a previous experience in sales management, professional education/CHE, sales, digital marketing, customer service models, diagnostic programs, rare diseases, and specialty care.
