Mechanical Engineer Designer

Responsibilities:
• Create new prints, re-engineering old prints and reverse engineering prints from customer specifications.
• Position instructions, standardized drawings and comments onto drawings.
• Responsible for presenting drawing it to a project engineer. If the model is approved, designers may then finalize designs and sent prints to the production department.
• Produce submittal shop drawings to communicate details of product and how it integrates into the building construction.
• Produce bills of materials and fabrication drawings for production.
• Demonstrate a desire for continuous improvement of design procedures and a propensity to create flexible but efficient methods for design.
• Analysis of customer mechanical specifications generating technical solutions through design.
• Customer Quality, Outgoing inspections of orders. Maintenance of quality records.
• Contribute to the enhancement of department design standards and existing products.
• Develop, test and implement new products
• Analyze current & potential product design issues and implement improvements.
• Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

Technical Skills/Requirements:
• Mechanical Engineering Degree or Diploma.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience within the manufacturing field.
• Ability to read construction documents including architectural, structural, mechanical drawings and interpreting specifications.
• Requirement Analysis, Deadline-Oriented, Self-Motivated, Design Skills, Analyzing Information, Highly Organized.
• In-depth knowledge of 2D drafting platforms (AutoCAD) preffered.
• In-depth knowledge of 3D modeling platforms (Solidworks / Driveworks Solo).
• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Knowledge and understanding of metal shop environment and process including sheet metal.
• Solid understanding of metal properties.
• Excellent English communication skills, both oral and written.

• Able to work independently and with a team.
• Be punctual for shifts.
• Attention to Detail is required.
