Legal Assistant

Description
- Scheduling events and proactively managing your lawyers’ calendars;
- Proactively managing multiple tasks, prioritizing and communicating well with all team members, clients and opposing counsel;
- Communicating with courts and tribunals;
- Drafting correspondence and appropriate forms;
- Preparing expense reports and processing disbursement invoices;
- Preparing invoices to clients as part of monthly billing process; and
- Managing filing – keeping file up to date & organized.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a legal assistant and 1-2 years of experience in insurance defence;
- Strong knowledge of court and LAT proceedings and procedures;
- Strong computer skills and experience with legal and file management software;
- The ability to manage a large volume of documents (paperless) and work in a fast-paced environment;
- The ability to prioritize work flow and manage critical details; and
