Human Resources

  • Manage, monitor and ensure compliance with relevant employment legislation and company policies, practices and procedures affecting the organization.
  • Prepare annual HR budget and monitor budget to actual performance, reporting on variance analysis.
  • Develop career development and succession plans and other initiatives for employee retention programs.
  • Plan, develop, implement and monitor a comprehensive HRIS to provide relevant information to the corporate decision-making processes.
  • Advise and coach the management team on the interpretation and administration of policies, programs and best practices.
  • Establish and maintain the company’s compensation evaluation system and grade structure, making recommendations for salary range changes based on yearly reviews of market and economic conditions.
  • Plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate the human resources department.
  • Oversee personnel management, including wage increases, promotions, and disciplinary actions in compliance with company policies.
  • Determine staffing requirements and oversee the recruitment process.
  • Approve vacation requests and monitor employee scheduling to maintain appropriate coverage.
  • Conduct employee performance evaluations and provide employees with performance feedback.
  • Determine areas of improvement for employees, providing additional training as needed.
  • Develop strategic performance metrics and targets that are consistent with company goals.
  • Provide leadership and coaching to managers and employees on key workplace matters such as performance management, difficult conversations, employee relations, and employee development.
  • Monitor assigned payroll activities and program components to ensure effective department functioning, coordinating activities, and compliance with established financial, legal, and administrative requirements.

Health & Safety, Facility and Security

  • Ensure a safe working environment is maintained at all times by developing and enforcing company H&S standards and following up on action items.
  • Overseeing all facility’s standards and fulfillment needs and requests.
  • Determine facility requirements and make recommendations to senior management.
  • Develop employee training, ensuring that all applicable compliance requirements are met.
  • Conduct workplace investigations, and resolve any conflicts that arise among staff in the department.
  • Ensure employees adhere to all health and safety regulations, including company policies.
  • Create and maintain the company’s security policies and procedures, working alongside the IT team to do so.
  • Manage and oversee the Security subcontractors, vendors and agency employees.
  • Control visitors coming in and out of our building, electronic devices and other goods.

Business Administration & Vehicle Program

  • Tasked with managing the vehicle program (fleet, employee lease, and car demo vehicles for executives).
  • Providing the Accounting Department with vehicle program-related invoices.
  • Prepare annual budget and monitor budget to actual performance, reporting on variance analysis.
  • Manage and maintain office supplies and stock with assistance from the team.
  • Being the approver for all HRA team’s,SAP and all other approval lines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • A degree or diploma in business administration, human resources management, or a related field is required.
  • Minimum 8 years of progressive HR experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of Human Resources Management experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of Health and safety experience.
  • Strong Dayforce experience is a must.
  • Attainment of CHRL designation as an asset.
  • Demonstrated experience with coaching and developing employees and managers.
  • Ability to deal with people compassionately, diplomatically, and professionally at all times.
  • Effective communication skills with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Computer literacy, including effective working skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook required.
  • Demonstrated basic knowledge of labour laws.
