Description
Job Title: Human Resources Supervisor
The Human Resources Supervisor is responsible for ensuring all policies, and employment requirements, among other duties, are met while working closely with the “HR Team” and within the office. Assisting/leading the management of the recruitment program. Works directly with the President and senior management to ensure compliance with legislative requirements are followed thoroughly.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable Human Resources Federal and Provincial requirements.
- Primary liaison with the third-party HR group (Peninsula).
- Organize potential dismissals /layoffs/reprimands.
- Work with Peninsula on all correspondences/employees within company.
- Refining policies, updating and circulating.
- Heavy focus on implementing the yearly review process with management enforcing the schedule.
- Consistent focus on creating, reviewing, and refining yearly reviews as required and discussed.
- Maintains organization with staff by establishing a recruiting, testing, and interviewing program for new Counseling managers on candidate selection, contract offerings, conducting and analyzing exit interviews, and recommending changes with senior management.
- Maintains the work structure by updating job requirements, organizational charts, and job descriptions for all positions.
- Manage hours of service for office and field staff for compliance.
- Maintain holiday / sick schedule.
- Oversee all aspects of employee leaves of absence, vacation, and WSIB claims.
- Work alongside the President to assist with monthly management meetings – advising, taking minutes, and administering action items with assistance from team members.
- Oversee employee benefits programs including regular program reviews, communication, and administration for group benefits and RRSP matching program.
- Maintains management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending HR policies and procedures.
- Initiate training requirements and/if required for compliance. Source appropriate external training provider, or organize internally, working with the Health and Safety Supervisor.
- Responsible for new employee orientation, working alongside the Health and Safety Supervisor to structure the best possible program for the onboarding process.
- Assist in monitoring return-to-work programs for Injured workers and report to the Directors on the status of these programs.
Qualifications
- Proficient with MS OFFICE including WORD, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Business Administration or equivalent. and/or experience equivalent.
- Previous construction or contractor experience is an asset and preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years experience working within a technical environment (such as manufacturing, mining, construction, contracting).
