HR Generalist (12-13 Month Contract)

Description
- Provide full cycle recruitment, including preparing job postings, screening & selection activities and extending contracts.
- Oversee employee onboarding for all new hires and review and work alongside the Human Resources Coordinator to update the program on a regular basis.
- Update and maintain all policies, employee files & job descriptions.
- Administer the company benefit program and Group RRSP program.
- Administer new enrollments, terminations, employee changes, employee leaves and WSIB claims.
- Responding to employee questions and training new employees on programs.
- Administer and support performance management processes and annual merit increases.
- Continually research and provide the Director of Human Resources information to help train and update Managers and employees regarding Human Resources matters.
- Update various Human Resources policies and procedures in consultation with Human Resources Director ensuring compliance with legislation and communicate understanding of these policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with payroll regarding payroll inquiries and correct them in a professional timely matter.
- Prepare various reports from the HRIS system and maintain accurate and up-to-date records and files of employees and help analyze employee turnover, new hires, vacation balances and service awards.
- Drive the Company Culture throughout the Company to ensure unity of purpose and fulfillment of the Company’s Commitment and Promise.
- Demonstrate a high level of integrity and a proactive approach to customer service.
- Assist the Director of Human Resources with researching training & development programs, make recommendations and follow up with all employees and managers for career aspirations and career paths.
- Support the employee engagement initiatives and retention through HR best practices.
- May perform special projects as required by Director of Human Resources.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree or college diploma in Human Resources or equivalent.
- Designation or working towards the Certified Human Resources Professional an asset.
- Must have 1- 3+ years experience in a Human Resources generalist level role.
- Expertise in project management and independent learning.
- Knowledgeable in the areas of employee relations, regulations, compensation practices, recruitment, and Human Resources procedures.
- 1+ years experience with recruitment practices.
- Strong organizational skills and proven ability to manage multiple projects required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
- Must have experience in a Windows environment.
- Strong knowledge of various HR applicable software (Payroll/HR software [ADP, Success Factors).
- Strong knowledge of employment law and legislation is required.
- Able to maintain confidences and keep information confidential.
- Ability to work with all levels of an organization to develop and influence the organization’s culture.
