Group Leader, Municipal Infrastructure Engineering

Description
- As a senior member of the Department, collaborate with the Department Manager and other Group Leaders to identify and develop long-term strategic priorities, systems, processes, policies, and programs for the Department from a service line perspective.
- Provide direction, training, performance management, professional development, and mentorship to team members within the Group.
- Participate in Group hiring.
- Act as a primary point of contact with internal and external clients, ensuring high service quality standards are in accordance with client expectations.
- Lead a continuous improvement process for the Group to ensure optimal service delivery to clients.
- Engage in business development initiatives and project pursuits to secure new work and clients.
- Provide technical and project management expertise and oversight in support of project delivery by the Group.
- Oversee Group budgets and financial management, ensuring that the Group meets its financial objectives.
- Oversee health and safety requirements of the Group and promote a safe workplace culture.
- Ensure all Group members represent the Company in the best light and are achieving established project targets.
- Promote the Company’s mission, vision, and values both internally and externally.
- Understand and determine the applicability of relevant local, provincial, and federal government regulations related to the work of the Group.
- Ensure that timelines are met for all key deliverables.
- Complete other tasks and projects, as required.
Qualifications
- 4-year civil engineering degree.
- Licensed as a Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario (P.Eng. with PEO).
- Minimum seven (7) years of experience in performing essential duties and responsibilities noted above.
- Minimum two (2) years of management experience.
- Extensive knowledge of principles and practices of proposal submissions, project management, risk management, and contract administration.
- Solid understanding of engineering, planning, environmental, and construction theory, concepts, and regulations related to the field of work.
- Extensive understanding of the principles and practices of budget development and financial management within the consulting industry.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the Ontario Health and Safety Act as it relates to supervision of staff and field work.
- Thorough knowledge of other legislation and regulations relevant to Group functions.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent communication skills, including mediation and negotiation skills.
- Demonstrated analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong work ethic and ability to manage multiple projects or issues simultaneously.
- Exceptional time management skills to meet critical timelines.
