Description

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain an effective Quality Management & Food Safety System incorporating GMP and risk management practices, ensuring all regulated functions are documented and performed according to procedures by qualified personnel.
  • Administer and approve manufacturing specifications, product technical data sheets, raw material specifications, certificates of analysis (COA/COC), and Safety Data Sheets (SDS), ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Stay informed about food safety and regulatory requirements impacting our facility, products, and operations. Provide timely guidance to ensure compliance actions are implemented.
  • Support employees in matters related to food safety and quality through training, problem-solving, and promoting awareness of GMPs, food defense, and foreign material control.
  • Upload suppliers’ quality and food safety information on customer platforms and participate in recall and traceability exercises as part of the Recall Team.
  • Compile, monitor, and communicate quality and food safety Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to management and food safety teams.
  • Coordinate and assist in developing prerequisite programs, Food Safety Plans, and Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Points (HACCP) plans.
  • Manage customer complaints and conduct root cause analysis for quality failures, ensuring timely and effective responses.
  • Ensure proper documentation practices, maintaining complete, traceable, and retrievable records in both paper and electronic formats.
  • Conduct external audits for food safety and quality standards, customer requirements, and regulatory compliance, following up on corrective actions as needed.
  • Coordinate internal audits against customer and regulatory standards, including material inspections, record reviews, facility audits, and correspondence.
  • Serve as a liaison for Quality & Compliance, maintaining communications with regulatory agencies, suppliers, and service providers. Participate in inspections and audits, coordinating responses to observations.
  • Recommend and oversee the setup and implementation of required lab equipment, ensuring certification and functionality for product development and quality testing.
  • Stay updated on food safety and quality trends and industry best practices, implementing improvements as appropriate.
  • Track and summarize quality measures to assess internal and supplier performance, identifying trends and opportunities for enhancement.
  • Oversee pest control services and review trends to maintain a pest-free environment.
  • Assist with regulatory duties as needed, supporting compliance efforts across all operational areas.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Quality Assurance Manager.
Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field; HACCP certification required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Quality Assurance/Quality Control and Food Safety within the food industry.
  • Familiarity with SFI, GMP, AIB, and GFSI (SQFI) certifications.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English, both orally and in writing.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
