Finance Clerk

Description
- Handle trust transactions including deposits, cheques, and transfers.
- Manage Accounts Receivable tasks such as billings, general deposits, and write-offs.
- Oversee Accounts Payable activities including processing payments for lawyer and firm expenses, posting invoices, and reconciling vendor statements.
- Conduct bank reconciliations for general, trust, and invested trust funds.
- Generate and print financial reports; prepare journal entries for month-end adjustments.
- Ensure accurate filing of financial documents.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Accounting or a related field
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in accounting roles, with experience in professional services.
- Exceptional time management skills, with the ability to manage tight deadlines and work effectively under pressure.
- High attention to detail, prioritizing accuracy and strong follow-up skills.
- Capable of working both in a team environment and independently as needed.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Outlook, and Word.
- Experience with Prolaw is considered an asset.
