Director of Logistics
Compensation Range
$100K - $120KCompensation will be determined based on the successful candidate's experience, skills, and qualifications, and may also be influenced by internal equity and market conditions.
o Manage outbound logistics
o Negotiate freight rates with various carriers for ongoing shipments and verify charges meet quoted costs
o Create custom documents for shipping, packing slips, proforma, USMCA
o Resolve disputes with receiving warehouse related to counts or shipping damages and manage return and repair with related costs as needed
o Handle all freight claims with clients and carriers to ensure quick response and repair or replacement costs are allocated as needed
o Create customs documents for returns and manage repair and replacement process
o Stay up to date with customs and duty issues to ensure up-to-date information on recent developments and tariff rates
o Collaborate with other team members to ensure requirements are met
o Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
o APICS certification (CSCP or CLTD) considered an asset
o Experience working with ERP systems
o Experience managing cross-border Canada/US shipments, including customs clearance, tariffs, duties, and compliance requirements
o Working knowledge of trade laws, USMCA, customs procedures, and import/export documentation
o Experience managing budgets and controlling logistics
o Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
o Strong negotiation skills with carriers, vendors, and service providers
o Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis and reporting
o Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
o High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities
