Designer Ancillary Specialist

Description

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
•Work with manufactures to obtain quotes that include pricing, discounts, lead times, and freight cost
•Provide alternatives for client needs such as lower cost options, quick-ship, etc.
•Utilizing current AutoCad/CET software for ancillary product to be placed to scale in drawings
•Prepare ancillary pricing specifications in Project Spec
•Verify manufacturer/ vendor quotes to what is being specified and address any discrepancies
•Create Specifications sheets with finish options in PowerPoint/PDF
•Assist in the development of proposal/bid responses for ancillary furniture including gathering images, warranty, and any additional information requested if time allows
•Count quantities on plan and add any discrepancies between plan and spec sheets
•Organize and save all back-up information in shared directory files for future reference
•Create a list of exceptions and clarifications regarding product specifications that cannot be met exactly as written and specifications that differ from plan
•Perform double checks with other design team members ensuring accuracy of product specification
•Create an add on strategy (accessories, trash cans, etc.) to quotes/orders.
•Create and manage a system that stores all ancillary research for future reference
•Continually update ancillary product research and educate team members on popular selections by category
•Maintain “My Resource Library” platform and work with MRL to submit all DEALER ancillary product selections to create a keyword searchable database
•Monitor continuing technology advancement with MRL and their impact on specification of ancillary product selections
•Maintain ancillary product knowledge by visiting local showrooms to become more familiar with product, meet local manufacture reps, and compare product quality
•Participate in vendor presentations and recommend future vendor selection for presentations
•Monitor newly available extensions in CET Designer and ensure design team has all available extensions

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS
•Comprehension of BIFMA Standards
•Knowledge of fabric, leather, laminate custom order requirements along with Repeats, yardage calculation and order process
•Strong attention to detail and demonstrates understanding of and meeting deadlines
•Exceptional decision-making skills
•Self-directed, highly motivated
•Strong presentation, verbal and communication skills
•Ability to listen actively and responsively
•Ability to work well and collaborate in a team environment
•Proficient with Microsoft Office products, AutoCAD / CET
