Description
Job Title: Controller
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Controller to oversee financial operations at our manufacturing facility in Brampton. The ideal candidate will lead the accounting function, oversee payroll across multiple jurisdictions, support international subsidiaries, and oversee treasury functions including cash flow management.
Responsibilities:
Financial Oversight & Reporting
- Lead month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Prepare consolidated financial statements in compliance with IFRS/ASPE.
- Oversee general ledger accuracy, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
- Conduct financial review of all contractual obligations.
- Perform analytical review of Balance Sheet and P&L accounts to assist with variance analysis.
- Facilitate regular audits and liaise with internal and external auditors.
Payroll Management
- Supervise payroll for Canadian and international operations.
- Ensure compliance with CRA, provincial, and international payroll regulations.
International Operations
- Manage intercompany transactions and transfer pricing in accordance with international tax laws.
- Support financial reporting and regulatory compliance for overseas entities.
- Work with local accountants and legal teams in foreign jurisdictions.
Treasury & Cash Flow
- Monitor and forecast daily, weekly, and monthly cash flow needs.
- Oversee foreign currency management and hedging strategies.
Internal Controls & Compliance
- Design and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets in compliance with Sarbanes Oxley legislation.
- Develop financial policies and procedures to support company growth and risk management.
Qualifications
- CPA designation required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum 7 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 3 years in a Controller or senior finance role.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Canadian and international payroll regulations.
- Proficient in ERP systems (Plex preferred) and Microsoft Excel.
- Demonstrated experience managing treasury, banking, and multi-entity, multi-currency consolidations.
