Account Manager – Avian Division

Description
Duties:
- Working within the Marketing group, the successful candidate will consult with scientists from business, government and academia to provide custom solutions involving radio and satellite tracking systems. This position will also liaise extensively with production and product. management to ensure customers’ expectations of product delivery and product features are met.
- Attending conferences 8-12 weeks (US) 70% in US States – flying and driving within the US.
- Building customer relationships.
- Lots of communication with the customer to get a thorough understanding of their research project: (the animal, what they hope to achieve, location, duration, funding, budget, time, have they used our products before, etc.). This takes place via phone and email.
- Liaison with engineering for custom requests.
- Placing sales orders.
- Following up with production and shipping.
- Ensuring timely delivery and deployment of collars.
- Assisting with technical questions and ensuring our Technical Specialist helps to resolve issue.
- Visiting clients when attending conferences.
- Business development.
- Submitting tenders.
- Once a week meeting with the segment members.
- Meeting with the Segment Directors.
- Meeting sales forecast.
- 70% Account Management/30% business development (referrals from current and past business).
Qualifications
Requirements: As a minimum, the successful candidate must have a University Degree in Business (MBA preferred), Biology, Environmental Science or Engineering. A minimum of four years sales experience (technical preferred) is required with a demonstrated successful track record.
