Title: Maintenance & Production Set Up Lead

This position is responsible for both maintenance functions and rearrangements. This responsibility extends to planning & budgeting; leadership of hourly skilled trades staff; continuous improvement planning & implementation; health & safety/ A SME in troubleshooting situations. Effective in external interface with vendors / suppliers / contractors.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Press set up and preventive maintenance
  • Ensure that breakdowns are addressed on a timely, thorough basis, minimizing down time
  • Ensure that PM schedules are completed on a timely, thorough basis, helping to reduce down time
  • Adhere to / conform with all applicable procedures, policies and regs esp. OHSA
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners to help achieve OEE targets
    • Engage hourly employees in work activities with safety/quality/cost in mind
    • Adhere to and conform with all applicable procedures, policies and regs
    • Support hourly employees’ needs of other cross-functional partners
    • Drive continual improvements
    • Collaborate with cross-functional partners to help achieve OEE targets
Qualifications

Required Skills, Education, and Experience

  • Familiarity with technologies, methodologies and techniques used in manufacturing systems.
  • Ability to read blueprints and identify critical components.
  • Ability to analyze and improve Predictive and Preventative Maintenance initiatives in the facility.
  • Must have good understanding of all production processes within the facility.
  • Must possess good analytical; decision-making; project management skills.
  • Familiar with OHSA; collective agreement provisions; ESA
  • Familiar with Fanuc and Motoman Robotics products and systems is preferred.
  • 3 to 5 years of supervisor experience in a unionized manufacturing environment would be a asset
  • Good understanding of OSHA; experienced in handling safety issues; basic understanding > QS 9000, TS 16949
  • Basic to intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office software applications
  • Good understanding & experience of Continual Improvement principles & methods, Lean Mfg & teaming concepts
  • Must possess strong leadership, interpersonal skills and problem-solving abilities
