Responsibilities and Duties
The primary Responsibilities and Duties of the Field Production Co-ordinator consist of, but are not limited to, the following:
- Review of all work orders for their geographic area, ensuring the information is correct and complete, description of work required in detail, type of materials, colour of materials etc.
- Ensure that all materials required to complete the job have been ordered and are available when the work is issued to a crew. Check availability of materials to be delivered directly to the job site by our suppliers. Check the availability of materials to be taken from the warehouse. Order any non-stock custom metal or materials through our warehouse co-ordinator.
- Schedule work, contacting the customer and assigning the crew. Notify the customer of approximate start date when contract is received. Update the customer on a regular basis.
- Conduct regular site visits to manage the crews, ensuring that workmanship is up to company standards. If the work is not up to standards, then ensure the crews fix all deficiencies and back charge the subcontractors if required.
- Inspection of work during installation to ensure proper fall protection is in place and the crew is following all safety procedures. Document any safety issues and bring them to the attention of the Operations Manager.
- Follow up with customer and crew regarding any extras that may be required on the job.
- Track all extras to ensure they are documented and invoiced.
- Complete a final inspection of each site to ensure that all work is complete, and materials and equipment has been removed.
- Track and reschedule with customers and crew to ensure and – work is completed in a timely fashion. Jobs delayed by weather or other trades ensure that the job is completed in a timely fashion. If the Service team is required for custom work and notify the service coordinator to schedule their people in a timely manner.
- Verify crew pay sheets, track and notify the Operations Manager regarding contract discrepancies. Prior to signing pay sheets for crews it is important to verify the number of bundles installed, number of layers and other discrepancies.
- If there are extras or missing items from the contract, you must notify the Operations Manager and Sales manager.
- Ensure records are kept of any equipment loaned to crews for specific work requirements. All equipment loaned must be signed out and an equipment loan form must be signed.
- Arrange pick up of extra material and delivery of shortages to the job site. All shortages and overages must be reported to the Operations Manager.
- Prepare reports required by the Operations Manager.
- Treat every Customer as the best customer, regardless of personal views or hardships.
- Work with the Operations Manager, to implement and coordinate company policies.
- Keep an awareness of new product developments and installation techniques in the roofing & Aluminum industry as well as value adds products that pertain to company’s long-term goals.
- Promote company image through the exercise of sound and ethical business practices in dealing with customers. Ensure that customers expectations are being met and maintain goodwill for future business.
- Perform all other duties that may be deemed appropriate by the Operations Manager.
- Attend mandatory on site safety meetings.
- Attend Monthly production meetings

Qualifications
Job Requirements
- Required: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Preferred: University Degree or College Diploma
Experience Required
- Required: 3-5 years work experience in a related construction trade.
- Preferred: 3-5 years work experience in the residential siding industry.
- Must have the ability to learn and understand production as it related to roofing, aluminum, sheet metal. Must have the ability to think creatively regarding the needs of the company and production problems or opportunities as they occur. Must be able to relate to the needs of the customers. In addition, must be able to develop and analyze data to be able to spot trends, problems and opportunities.
